Silkscreener
Does anyone have a recommendation for an incredibly high-quality silkscreener in the area that can make posters? I need the best recommendation possible, and can borrow a car to get to where ever the shop is. Thanks! [apologies for the x-posting] |

safe area?
Hi everyone, A friend of mine is looking for an appartment in SF and has found a place she likes near Fulton & 25th. Now, the problem is - she is not really familiar with that neighborhood, so she is concerned with how nice/not nice the area is. And by "nice" she mostly means "safe" since she is a single mom with two teenage kids and her elderly mom also lives with them. What do you think? Could you please share your opinion on pros and cons of living in that area? Thanks a lot in advance! |

Hosted by: Landa Lakes AND DJ Alex Cox
Lux-Killmore Entertainment presents an out of this world film, drag, burlesque and sideshow event, A Space ODDessy !, an evening of chicks, dicks and flicks. July is a time to look to the sky, is that a firework? Burning Bush? Maybe it's a group of aliens set to take over our disgusting little planet? Oh it's also Val's birthday...guess what, we'll be showing her favorite film; Edward D Wood Jr's "Plan 9 From Outer Space" July 12th @ 7:00 pm at The Stud. About The Film: "Can your heart stand the shocking facts about Graverobbers from Outer Space?" That's the question on the lips of the narrator of this tale about flying saucers, zombies and cardboard tombstones. A pair of aliens, angered by the "stupid minds" of planet Earth, set up shop in a California cemetery. Their plan: to animate an army of the dead to march on the capitals of the world. (The fact that they have only managed to resurrect three zombies to date has not discouraged them.) An intrepid airline pilot living near the cemetery must rescue his wife from this low-budget terror. "Can you prove it *didn't* happen?" Written by David Thiel and that's right...School of Shimmy Starts the same day!

hey guys! some friends and i are looking to move to san francisco, for a lease starting aug 1st. we know the city well and everything, but are a bit stumped as to places to look for rentals that isn't craigslist. ideally, we're looking for a house. is there any other good place online (or an office or newspaper we could pick up/visit physically) that would help us on our quest? craigslist is great, but 1-2 listings of places with the criteria we want every day or so is kind of limited. |

Viva les USA.
Hello all. Does anyone know if it's possible to see the fireworks (I understand the fog might be an issue, so ignore the fog issue) from anywhere on Potrero Hill ? I like the idea of just walking a few blocks much better than fighting the crowds at Embarcadero. Merci. |

Fun times with the Benders
Needed to break in my new moleskine-sized WC pad, and it was bugging me what to put in, so I let someone else conceptualize for me here. And 'cause I'm a registered Grand Master of Dorkdom, and Pop Culture Fanhood... I give you... Avatar: the Last Airbender fan art. I've got Aang and Sokka under the brush at the moment. They'll come soon enough. And an infected dog thing. Dick Blick had a really awesome sale on 300 lb WC sheets and an awesome handmade paper sketch pad last week, so we got some of those now. I am an addict of art supplies. Last night was spent watching an osprey hunt for fish for her noisycute fledglings on the Bay. And gorging on smoked brisket, rockfish, bratwurst, and burgers on the edge of the water. A friend's dad has a GREAT 1930s house right on the water in Deale, MD. Tiny little fishing town, but what a phenomenal view and the weather was perfect last night to see some fireworks across the water at Chesapeake Beach. The ospreys were numerous and cute, as were the fireflies, though the weirdest guest of the night was a wild turkey we saw pecking someone's lawn on the way there. Happy 4th, folks. Don't get too nationalistic. Time to shave my head. Current Mood: cheerfulCurrent Music: SomaFM - Groove Salad |

Red light ticket in SF
I recently received a citation for running a red light, but I wasn't the driver (or even in the car at the time). Just curious, but does anyone know if I am required to give up the driver's name? Current Mood: curious |
